Had these on my Trek Rail 7, it is a 23kg bike and i am 85kg, they offer vastly improved initial bite and they hold well in the heat, my disc has turned brown and purple and they have held up well, they lost some braking power but that was 100% abuse to the break system on my part. I have had them for 600 miles and they are now pretty worn, most of my rides are circa 20-25 miles with 3500-4500ft worth of climbing so they do get used. 8/10 would buy again, wore a little quick but cant complain!
I have tried a few pairs of Galfer pads now on the e-mtb. These are no exception excellent stopping power and one of the best if tried over the past few years 👍🏻
purple pads fitted to 14kw sur ron light bee. great feel and have run them for a couple of months now and they have been as quiet as a church mouse. top pads.
Probably going to go in the bin
They do bite, but the noise is terrible
I cleaned pads and disc with isopropyl when fitting, so it’s not contamination.
And even with that, all the purple paint came off and went over my fingers!
Hi Ben, These are Sintered pads, very hard wearing and durable, less prone to fade but with that they can squeal especially in wet conditions. In our chat at the time of purchase I advised you to look at a softer compound for the front
'Pads we do 4 compounds I would run a softer compound on the front for better feel and a harder sintered or semi sintered. On the rear'
you wanted them to last
'id like similar in terms of longevity as what I have as use it to commute'
So I advised you to go for the purple with a warning
'Look at the Galfer purple they are designed for ebike. They are hard and may squeal but most people like them'
As for the paint coming off isopropyl is a known paint thinner I don't think that is a fair comment.
